We are pleased to announce that a new dataset published within FIRE-RES research project and is now available in the open-access journal Data in Brief (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.dib.2025.112304). This “data article” provides a newly curated dataset — documenting wildfire simulations applied in Greece. As per the standards of Data in Brief, the article focuses on describing the dataset: its structure, how the data were collected and processed, data formats, metadata, and the ways in which the data can be accessed and reused.
By publishing the dataset in a widely accessible format, we contribute to open science: researchers anywhere can access, evaluate, and build upon our data. Others can use the dataset as a baseline or input for their own studies — whether in environmental modelling, spatial analysis, risk assessment, or other related fields. As part of the FIRE-RES project, we are proud to contribute this resource to the scientific community. We encourage colleagues, researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders — especially those working in wildfire management, environmental management, GIS/remote sensing — to explore the dataset. We also welcome collaborative initiatives or feedback from those interested in applying the data to new contexts or combining them with other sources.
