As part of the ANTENNA Project, Asst. Prof. Christos Vasilakos represented the University of the Aegean (UAEGEAN) at the project’s Second Annual General Meeting, hosted at the Naturalis Biodiversity Center in Leiden, The Netherlands.
Further information about the meeting is available on the official project website: ANTENNA Project News.
The meeting took place within the exceptional facilities of Naturalis, one of Europe’s leading research centers in biodiversity and natural history. Participants had the opportunity to experience its state-of-the-art research infrastructure and multithematic museum, which provides an inspiring environment for scientific collaboration and knowledge exchange.
During the meeting, Dr. Vasilakos presented the progress achieved by the UAEGEAN team in field sampling, drone-based mapping, and artificial intelligence implementation for automated flower recognition. These contributions align with the project’s objectives to advance pollinator monitoring, habitat characterization, and biodiversity assessment through the integration of remote sensing technologies and machine learning methodologies.
