
Nikos Samiotis holds a BSc in Geology from the University of Patras and is currently pursuing an MA in Geography and Applied Geoinformatics at the Department of Geography, University of the Aegean. In spring 2022, he was part of a scientific team conducting an environmental survey for an offshore wind farm and completed an internship as a Geologist at the Museum of Science and Technology. During the summer of 2022, he also interned as a Geologist at the Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest. In 2024, he completed a three-month Erasmus+ internship at Fondazione CMCC – Centro Euro-Mediterraneo sui Cambiamenti Climatici, within the Risk Assessment and Adaptation Strategies (RAAS) Division as part of the EO4MULTIHAZARDS project. There, he worked on developing an approach that leverages satellite data to analyze historical heat events in the Adige River basin, Italy. His main research interests include Remote Sensing, Data Analysis, Natural Hazards, UAV applications, Geoinformatics, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
