Marios Sakkas is a Forester and Environmental Specialist from Rhodes, Greece, with an academic background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing applications in forest management and environmental planning. He holds an integrated Master’s degree in Forestry and Natural Environment from the Agricultural University of Athens (2023) and is currently pursuing an MSc in Geography and Applied Geoinformatics at the University of the Aegean. Marios has gained experience in both the public and private sectors, working on photointerpretation studies, flood prevention and erosion control projects, and geospatial data analysis for sustainable resource planning. His research interests focus on the use of geoinformatics and remote sensing for forest monitoring, land cover change analysis, and the development of data-driven approaches to environmental conservation and climate adaptation.
