Byron Rodokalis is a Forester and Environmentalist with a strong interest in the applications of remote sensing and GIS in forest management. He holds an integrated Master’s degree in Forestry and Natural Environment from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2023), with a specialization in the Planning and Development of Natural Resources. He is currently pursuing an MSc in Geography and Applied Geoinformatics at the University of the Aegean. Since 2024, he has been working as a GIS Analyst and Forester at HOMEOTECH Co. in Thessaloniki, contributing to projects focused on wildfire prevention, sustainable forest management, and environmental monitoring. He has actively participated in the implementation of EU-funded initiatives, including LIFE and Interreg programs, supporting the development of fire protection plans and climate adaptation strategies. As a certified drone operator, he integrates UAV technology into forest mapping and urban resilience assessments. His academic interests focus on the use of remote sensing for vegetation monitoring, land use analysis, and data-driven forest planning. During his undergraduate studies, he conducted research on urban green space evaluation using satellite data and continues to explore geospatial approaches to address environmental challenges and promote sustainable natural resource management.
